Iranian film ‘Yellow’ has been awarded at the Shanghai International Film Festival in China.

Directed by Mostafa Taghizadeh, ‘Yellow’ won Special Jury award at the Chinese festival.

Meanwhile, the award for Best Actress In a Leading Role went to the movie’s star, Sareh Bayat.

‘Yellow’ features Iranian actors such as Bahram Radan, Sareh Bayat, Mehrdad Sedighian, Bahareh Kianafshar, Shahram Haghighatdoust, Alireza Ostadi, Hossein Mehri, Anahita Dargahi, Morteza Taghizadeh, Amir-Ali Nabavian and Ali Salehi.

A brief synopsis of ‘Yellow’ reads, “We are strange people... Our present is very different than our future”. 'Yellow' is slated to hit Iranian local cinemas soon.

Founded in 1993, Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) focuses on awards, markets, forums and film exhibitions so as to build an international platform, and promote the development of the Chinese film industry.

The festival’s 20th edition was held June 17-26 in Shanghai.
